Forest Farming Understory Botanicals: Strategies for Propagation

  • The Smokey House Center 426 Danby Mountain Rd Danby, VT (map)

Join us at the Smokey House Center for a workshop focused on propagation systems for forest botanicals like ginseng, goldenseal, black cohosh, ramps, bloodroot, and Solomon’s seal. We’ll tour Smokey House’s many different nursery systems, both in the woods and under shade-cloth, and weigh the benefits of different propagation strategies. We’ll discuss different propagule types and demonstrate seed collection and rhizome division.

This workshop is part of the ADAPT Project’s 2026 Agroforestry Twilight Meetings held by UNH Extension in collaboration with the Northeast Forest Farmers Coalition. More information and registration can be found here.
